MY FOUR DECADES WITH FERRARI – A MERE MOMENT IN TIME

It's a unique, almost unbelievable tale. But maybe all great stories can be reduced to a small but significant denominator: passion. Only from this can emerge what will become a great story. Like at Ferrari, where passion and the highest performance are visible in every single vehicle.

From 1985 until 2024, I photographed, designed and published the large format, numbered and limited-edition calendars featuring classic and new Ferraris. Today, 40 years on, these calendars are sought-after collector's items for Ferrari enthusiasts around the world.

I was able to get the most renowned Ferrari collectors throughout Europe, the USA, Japan and South Africa to do photo shoots. Through this extensive work, I have created the world's largest and best photo archive of Ferrari models from 1948 to the present day. It includes historic as well as new Ferrari Gran Turismo, Formula 1 and racing sports cars.

All images were painstakingly captured during outdoor shoots. They were shot exclusively with large-format film or high-end digital cameras. A studio flash apparatus with its own autonomous power system was used on location.

My passion spread to Ferrari collectors, their mechanics, as well as to racetrack and event managers when we arrived. Yes, we. For more than 40 years, this has been the dream team both on and off the shooting set: my wife Karin and me.

Forty years. That amounts to 520 cover and monthly motifs for exactly 14,269 days of viewing. Quite a long time. And, then again, not: The combined exposure time of all the published calendar motifs doesn't even add up to 230 seconds.
